Von Frankfurt aus machten wir uns mit KLM via Amsterdam auf nach Johannesburg. Am Flughafen wurden wir vom Personal des ersten gebuchten <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accommodationatortambo.co.za\/\">Hotels<\/a> mit dem Minibus empfangen und erreichten nach 10 min Fahrt die Unterkunft. Nach einer M\u00fcckenjagd und Schlie\u00dfen der Fenster schliefen wir gut und wurden nach einem Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck vom Hotel zur\u00fcck zum Flughafen gebracht, wo wir zun\u00e4chst eine\u00a0 s\u00fcdafrikanische SIM Karte f\u00fcrs Mobiltelefon kauften und dann den vorbestellten Mietwagen abholten. Das Auto war ein Toyota Etios Sprint Hatch, etwa die Gr\u00f6\u00dfe eines Polos, aber gut f\u00fcr 2 Leute. In S\u00fcdafrika wird links gefahren, mit Handschaltung links. Gl\u00fccklicherweise waren wir dies von unserem Leben in England gew\u00f6hnt, so dass wir schnell mit den lokalen Verh\u00e4ltnissen klar kamen. Im Generellen fahren die S\u00fcdafrikaner gut und r\u00fccksichtsvoll, nur die vielen Minibusse fahren etwas unorthodox, i.e. missachten rote Ampeln und dr\u00e4ngeln sich \u00fcberall vor. Die obige Karte gibt unsere Reiseroute recht gut wieder, zus\u00e4tzlich verbrachten wir aber noch eine Nacht im S\u00fcden des Kr\u00fcger Nationalparks und die direkte Strecke von Kap Agulhas nach Gansbaai auf einer Schotterpiste vermieden wir zugunsten eines Umwegs auf geteerten Stra\u00dfen. Plus einiger zus\u00e4tzlicher Touren kamen wir alles in allem auf 3820 km. Die l\u00e4ngsten Strecken waren von Johannesburg zum Kr\u00fcger Nationalpark, von Sabie nach Durban und von Durban nach East London, jede dieser Fahrten dauerte jeweils einen ganzen Tag, i.e. morgens losfahren und sp\u00e4tnachmittags im Hotel ankommen. Wir vermieden es im Dunkeln zu fahren. Ausgenommen von der ersten Unterkunft und der letzten in Kapstadt, sowie die zwei N\u00e4chte im Kr\u00fcger Nationalpark, buchten wir die Unterk\u00fcnfte einen Tag vorher oder sogar am Ankunftstag, das verlief immer ohne Probleme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kr\u00fcger Nationalpark<\/strong> (eines der Highlights)<br \/>\nNach 6 Stunden Fahrt kamen wir am Eingang des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanparks.org\/\">Kr\u00fcger Nationalparks<\/a> an, wo unsere Dokumente gecheckt wurden. Hier ist Vorsicht geboten: im Park gilt eine H\u00f6chstgeschwindigkeit von 50km\/h und w\u00e4hrend der Dunkelheit darf nicht gefahren werden. Beim Eintritt wird gepr\u00fcft ob man es schaffen kann vor Eintritt der Dunkelheit beim entsprechenden Camp anzukommen. Falls die Zeit zu knapp werden sollte, wird man erst gar nicht in den Park eingelassen. Auch die Camps schliessen ihre Tore zu vorgegebenen Zeiten, i.e. es empfiehlt sich das vorher zu \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen und die Zeiten einzuhalten.<br \/>\nSchon kurz nach der Einfahrt in den Park, sah man viele Tiere direkt neben der Stra\u00dfe, Antilopen, Giraffen, Elefanten,\u2026 .\u00a0 Martina freute sich \u00fcber den Anblick eines Elefantenbabys, das wohl kaum eine Woche alt war. Eine Stunde vor Einbruch der Dunkelheit kamen wir im ersten gebuchten Camp an, das Olifant Camp. Das Camp ist idyllisch oberhalb des Olifant Flusses gelegen. Abends machten wir uns auf den Weg zum zentralen Restaurant, wo wir die letzte Sonnenstrahlen nebst einem Steak und einer Flasche s\u00fcdafrikanischen Rotwein genossen. Das Essen war, wie \u00fcberall in S\u00fcdafrika, sehr gut und zudem preisg\u00fcnstig, in der Regel bezahlten wir f\u00fcr zwei Essen, einer geteilten Vorspeise und einer Flache Wein weniger als 40 \u20ac.<br \/>\nF\u00fcr den n\u00e4chsten Morgen hatten wir eine Safarifahrt gebucht, in einem gel\u00e4ndeg\u00e4ngigem Bus f\u00fcr etwa 20 Leute. Abfahrt war noch im Dunklen um 4:00 morgens. Im Dunkeln wurde mit Scheinwerfern (Handscheinwerfer wurden auch verteilt) in den Busch geleuchtet. Das Reflektieren der Augen von Tieren konnte man gut wahrnehmen. Die Fahrerin hat dann sofort angehalten und die Tiere konnten dann im geb\u00fcndelten Scheinwerferlicht betrachtet werden.<br \/>\nSo ziemlich bei Sonnenaufgang kamen wir an einer Staustufe des Olifantflusses an und konnten Nilpferde im Wasser beobachten. W\u00e4hrend der Fahrt sahen wir viele Antilopen, Zebras, Affen, Giraffen und auch einige Elefanten. Direkt neben der Stra\u00dfe sahen wir auch ein Hy\u00e4nenrudel, wo die M\u00fctter ihre Jungen s\u00e4ugten. Nach drei Stunden kamen wir zur\u00fcck ins Camp. wo wir unsere Sachen packten und dann ausgiebig fr\u00fchst\u00fcckten.<br \/>\nDanach machten wir uns auf dem Weg zu unserem zweiten Camp mit dem Namen Skukuza. Dies ist eines der gr\u00f6\u00dften Camps im Park. W\u00e4hrend es um Olifant herum recht waldig war, wechselte die Landschaft auf dem Weg zur Savanne und zur\u00fcck zu eher bewaldet. Im Savannenteil ersp\u00e4hten wir einen L\u00f6wen unter einem Busch. den h\u00e4tten wir sicher \u00fcbersehen, zum Gl\u00fcck hielten immer die Autofahrer an, sobald sie ein gr\u00f6\u00dferes Tier entdeckten, soda\u00df nachfolgende Fahrer auch anhielten um die Tiere auch zu sehen. Es gab noch Wasserb\u00fcffel und Affen zu sehen, eine gro\u00dfe Hy\u00e4ne kreuzte die Stra\u00dfe (die Gr\u00f6\u00dfe des Tieres war sehr beeindruckend) und in der N\u00e4he des Skukuza Camps kreuzte noch ein Nilpferd die Stra\u00dfe. Die Fahrt dauerte etwa drei Stunden, soda\u00df wir noch genug Zeit hatten Verpflegung einzukaufen, und einen Hamburger mit einem Bier im Selbstbedienungsrestaurant des Camps zu konsumieren.<br \/>\nAbends haben wir eine Nachtsafari gebucht, die \u00e4hnlich wie die Morgensafari ablief, nur halt im Dunkeln. Lange Zeit gab es au\u00dfer einer Eule und einem Bushbaby (und den \u00fcblichen Antilopen) nichts zu sehen, dann hatten wir aber das Gl\u00fcck einen Leoparden direkt neben der Stra\u00dfe zu entdecken, den wir wohl gerade beim \u00dcberfall auf eine Antilopenherde st\u00f6rten und der sich dann f\u00fcr eine lange Zeit in Sichtweite parallel zur Stra\u00dfe bewegte.<br \/>\nAm n\u00e4chsten Morgen gab's dann noch ein englisches Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck bevor wir uns auf zum n\u00e4chsten Ziel.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"2200\" \/>\nDurch das Phabeni Gate verliessen wir den Kr\u00fcger Nationalpark und fuhren in die Berge durch Hazyview. Dort gab es gigantische Macademianu\u00dfplantagen. In Sabie (unserem n\u00e4chsten Ziel) angekommen, besichtigten wir die umliegenden Wasserf\u00e4lle (Mac Mac falls, Maria Shires falls, Sabie falls, Bridal Vail falls, Lone Creek falls und Horseshoe falls). Besonders beeindruckend waren Mac Mac und Lone Creek. Um alle F\u00e4lle zu besichtigen legten wir sicherlich 20 km auf Schotterpisten mit vielen Schlagl\u00f6chern zur\u00fcck, bevor wir abends unsere <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewoodsman.co.za\/\">Unterkunft <\/a>erreichten. Im angeschlossenem Pub a\u00dfen wir zu Abend, sensationell war das Carpaccio vom Strau\u00df. Schon bei der Ankunft wurde uns gesagt, dass es vor\u00fcbergehend kein Leitungswasser g\u00e4be. Im Lauf des Abends kam aber ein LKW mit einem riesigen Wassertank vorbei und pumpte Wasser in die lokalen Tanks. Kurzfristig gab es dann Leitungswasser, am n\u00e4chsten Morgen funktionierte das Wasser trotz voller Tanks schon wieder nicht, sodass das Duschen ausfallen musste. Zum Z\u00e4hneputzen benutzten wir das gekaufte Mineralwasser. Auf dem Weg zum Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck begegneten wir dem Eigent\u00fcmer, bei dem wir uns \u00fcber das Wasser beschwerten. Er bot uns an in einem seiner anderen Unterk\u00fcnfte zu duschen. Ich lehnte ab und fragte nach einem Rabatt, er griff direkt in seine Tasche und gab uns 1\/4 des \u00dcbernachtungspreises zur\u00fcck, das war Martina etwas peinlich. Orte wie Ladysmith und Pietermaritzburg w\u00e4ren sicherlich sehenswert gewesen, sie sind historisch bedeutungsvoll, sei es weil sie eine Rolle in den Burenkriegen spielten, sei es weil Nelson Mandela und Mahatma Gandi hier inhaftiert wurden. In Durban blieben wir f\u00fcr zwei N\u00e4chte im <a href=\"http:\/\/pavilionhotel.co.za\/\">Pavilion Hotel<\/a> und a\u00dfen zu Abend im <a href=\"http:\/\/www.californiadreaming.co.za\/\">California Dreaming<\/a> sowie in der <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moyo.co.za\/moyo-ushaka-pier-bar\/\">moyo uShaka Pier Bar<\/a>. Die Strandpromenade war sehr nett und erinnerte sehr an Kalifornien, z.B. Santa Monica. Es gab viele Spazierg\u00e4nger, Jogger, Radfahrer, Surfer\u2026<br \/>\nAm ersten Morgen wollten wir uns die Stadt ansehen und fr\u00fchst\u00fcckten im Surf Riders Cafe. Danach machten uns auf zu Fu\u00df. Die Stra\u00dfen waren sehr voll mit Menschen, sodass wir uns etwas unwohl f\u00fchlten und auch der Viktoria Street Market, den wir uns anschauen wollten, war nicht sonderlich\u00a0 interessant. Alles in allem hat uns Durban nicht so gut gefallen.<br \/>\nAm n\u00e4chsten Morgen fuhren wir dann fr\u00fch weiter mit dem Ziel East London. Auch dieser Tag lie\u00df keine Zeit f\u00fcr Sightseeing. Wir fuhren zun\u00e4chst auf der N2 am Meer entlang bevor die Strecke mehr im Hinterland verlief. Dabei kamen wir durch verschiedene St\u00e4dte und dort herrschte das reine Chaos. Viele Menschen und Autos auf den Stra\u00dfen, wobei die Autos h\u00e4ufig in zweiter Reihe hielten oder sogar parkten, soda\u00df massive Staus entstanden. Hervorzuheben war besonders die Stadt Mthatha. Die Durchfahrt von etwa 5 km dauerte insgesamt zwei Stunden. Wir \u00fcbernachteten in einer privaten <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/za\/clearview-crescent-lodge.de.html?label=gen173nr-1FCAEoggI46AdIM1gEaDuIAQGYAQe4ARnIAQ_YAQHoAQH4AQuIAgGoAgO4AuaE2e8FwAIB;sid=ae0c6aa0b7379dd40eaa0ce62e6245ea\">Unterkunft<\/a> in einem sehr sch\u00f6nen Apartment mit Swimmingpool. Wir fragten die Eigent\u00fcmerin wo wir eher traditionell afrikanisches Essen bekommen k\u00f6nnten und wurden an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spur.co.za\/restaurant\/family\/beacon-bay\/wykato-spur\/\">Wykato Spur<\/a> verwiesen, welches sich aber als eher typisch amerikanischer Diner herausstellte. Der Besuch war sehr lohnend, da wir tats\u00e4chlich viele Elefantenherden sahen, aber auch Strau\u00dfe und viele Warzenschweine. Die Wege waren gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils geschottert, aber allgemein in einem guten Zustand. Auf den Stra\u00dfen fand sich viel Elefantendung, wir wurden angewiesen nicht dr\u00fcber zu fahren, da sich darin die seltenen Pillendreherk\u00e4fer befanden, die den Dung entsorgen. Der Park befand sich im bergigen Hinterland mit Sicht auf die Hohen Sandd\u00fcnen am Strand. Abends fuhren wir weiter nach Uitenhage. Nur einige Kilometer zuvor war die Gegend sehr einsam mit wenig H\u00fctten. Als wir n\u00e4her kamen stellte sich aber heraus, dass das St\u00e4dtchen eine signifikante Gr\u00f6\u00dfe hat und sich hier ein VW Werk befand. \u00dcbernachtet haben wir im <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rainbowguesthouse.co.za\/\">Rainbow Guest House and Tours.<\/a> Die Besitzerin war sehr freundlich und erkl\u00e4rte uns, da\u00df diesen Abend so etwas wie Karneval in der Stadt gefeiert w\u00fcrde und es schwierig sein w\u00fcrde ein Restaurant, bzw. Parkplatz in der Stadt zu finden. Aus diesem Grund beschlossen wir den Abend auf der Veranda vor unserem Zimmer bei einer Flasche Rotwein und Chips zu verbringen. Daf\u00fcr wurden wir am n\u00e4chsten Morgen wieder mit einem englischen Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck versorgt, bevor wir uns nach Plettenberg Bay aufmachten.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" Bay<\/strong><br \/>\nist ein sehr pittoresker Ort an einer gro\u00dfen Bucht. Die H\u00e4user ziehen sich den Berg hinauf, haben also meistens Meerblick, trotzdem sind diese H\u00e4user f\u00fcr weniger als 300,000\u20ac zu kaufen. Vielleicht wird doch S\u00fcdafrika doch noch unser Rentnerparadies? Ein Ausl\u00e4ufer der Bucht endet im <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capenature.co.za\/reserves\/robberg-nature-reserve\/\">Robberg Nature Reserve.<\/a> Hier kann man einen 9 km langen Rundweg wandern, der bis zur Landspitze f\u00fchrt. Dieser Weg war wegen der vielen Stufen und Treppen und des stetigen auf und ab's sehr anstrengend. Wir brauchten etwa drei Stunden. Unterwegs gab es von oben herab Robben und Pinguine zu beobachten. Martina entdeckte auch eine Kolonie Klippschliefer. Gegen Ende des Rundwegs musste ein weiter sch\u00f6ner Strand \u00fcberquert werden, bevor der Weg an H\u00f6hlen vorbei f\u00fchrte, wo schon Urmenschen \u00fcbernachtet hatten\u00b8 und zum Ausgangspunkt zur\u00fcckf\u00fchrte. Sehr ersch\u00f6pft fuhren wir weiter nach Mossel Bay, wo wir im\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mosselbaybackpackers.co.za\/\">Mossels Bay Backpackers<\/a> \u00fcbernachteten. Dieses Hostel bot viele Aktivit\u00e4ten und ein Barbeque am Abend an. Leider waren nicht so viele G\u00e4ste da, soda\u00df wir uns entschlossen im <a href=\"https:\/\/www.delfinos.co.za\/\">Delfinos<\/a>\u00a0 direkt am Meer zu dinieren. Es gab wie so h\u00e4ufig ein leckeres Steak. Der Kellner war etwas erstaunt, da\u00df Martina und ich die Flasche mit der scharfen Habanerosauce fast leer machten. Nach dem \u00fcblichen Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck machten wir uns auf zum n\u00e4chsten Ziel: Cape Alguhas. Dort gab es einen interessanten Leuchtturm mit Museum, den s\u00fcdlichsten Punkt Afrikas, sowie ein japanisches Wrack zu besichtigen.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" \/>\nDiesen Ort hatten wir gew\u00e4hlt, weil hier die Expeditionen zum Tauchen mit weissen Haien starten. Das ganze findet nat\u00fcrlich in K\u00e4figen statt. Wir haben uns extra zwei Tage Zeit gelassen, um auf jeden Fall zumindest auch bei schlechtem Wetter einen Tag zum Tauchen verf\u00fcgbar zu haben. Leider war Poseidon gegen uns, beide Tage waren extrem windig, soda\u00df es keine Haitouren gab. \u00dcbernachtet haben wir im <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/za\/nell-s-b-b.de.html?label=gen173nr-1FCAEoggI46AdIM1gEaDuIAQGYAQe4ARnIAQ_YAQHoAQH4AQuIAgGoAgO4AuaE2e8FwAIB;sid=ae0c6aa0b7379dd40eaa0ce62e6245ea\">Nell's B&B<\/a>. Die Eigent\u00fcmerin war sehr nett und versuchte uns davon zu \u00fcberzeugen doch ihr Haus f\u00fcr 150\u00b8000 \u20ac zu kaufen.\u00a0 \u00dcberlegt man die direkte Lage am Strand sicherlich nicht schlecht, leider gibt es au\u00dfer dem Haitauchen aber nicht so viele Attraktionen im Ort. Zu Abend a\u00dfen wir im <a href=\"https:\/\/thegreatwhitehouse.co.za\/\">Great White House<\/a> Restaurant, welches ein riesiges Walskelett an der Decke montiert hatte. Ich hatte eine Seafood Platter mit Muscheln, Fisch und einem Crabcake, welche wirklich vorz\u00fcglich waren. Am n\u00e4chsten Morgen starteten wir aufgrund des windigen Wetters eine Wanderung von Gansbaai zu den <a href=\"https:\/\/boardsoon.wordpress.com\/2014\/12\/05\/die-hohlensysteme-von-de-kelders\/\">Klipgat Caves<\/a>, hin und zur\u00fcck etwa 10 km. In diesen H\u00f6hlen haben schon Urmenschen gewohnt, wie die verschiedenen gefundenen Artefakte beweisen. Nach der Wanderung im Regen aber auch in der Sonne fiel mir kurz vorm Erreichen des Autos ein <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/category\/Italian-Restaurant\/Mama-Ritas-103847717636012\/\">italienisches Restaurant<\/a> auf, welches Peroni Bier anpries. Da konnten wir nicht widerstehen. Die Bedienung versuchte uns auch das Essen nahezulegen, was wir zun\u00e4chst ablehnten, am Abend kehrten wir dann aber zur\u00fcck und wurden nicht entt\u00e4uscht.<br \/>\nAm Nachmittag besuchten wir dann noch die lokale <a href=\"https:\/\/dict.org.za\/dict-projects\/african-penguin-seabird-sanctuary\/\">Pinguin Rettungsstation<\/a>. Hier werden verletzte Pinguine wieder aufgep\u00e4ppelt, bevor sie wieder in die Freiheit entlassen werden. Leider ist die afrikanische Art vom Aussterben bedroht, da zum einen wegen der intensiven Befischung die Nahrungsreserven ausgehen, zum anderen lernen die Robben den vom Meer zur\u00fcckkehrenden Pinguinen den Bauch aufzubei\u00dfen, um an den gefangenen Fisch zu kommen. Zun\u00e4chst machten wir uns auf den Weg zum Kap der guten Hoffnung, wo wir zum Leuchtturm hinaufstiegen, als auch auf den H\u00fcgel direkt am Kap. Es war sehr windig, und man wurde fast weggeweht. Die Aussicht war aber bombastisch und das Meer sehr aufgew\u00fchlt. Nachdem wir uns die Haare haben durchwehen lassen machten wir uns auf den Weg zu unserer Airbnb Unterkunft im Zentrum vom Kapstadt. Wir hatten zun\u00e4chst etwas Schwierigkeiten die Unterkunft zu finden, sp\u00e4ter stellte sich heraus, dass das gemietete Apartment im <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bestwestern.com\/en_US\/book\/hotels-in-cape-town\/best-western-fountains-hotel\/propertyCode.75031.html\">Fountain Hotel<\/a>, mitten in Kapstadt war. Es gab auch noch Probleme mit der Fernbedienung f\u00fcr die Garage und der Schl\u00fc\u00dfel f\u00fcr das Apartment hakte arg. Die Besitzer bem\u00fchten sich aber um Abhilfe. Am ersten Abend a\u00dfen wir im <a href=\"https:\/\/tigersmilk.co.za\/long-street\/\">Tigers Milk<\/a>. Das war ein interessantes Lokal mit vielen Einheimischen. Am n\u00e4chsten Tag besuchte Martina den botanischen Garten. Mit Pflanzen habe ich nicht allzu viel am Hut, soda\u00df ich auf Sightseeing Tour im Stadtzentrum ging. Company Gardens war ganz interessant, mit den anliegenden Museen und Kirchen. Mich zog es daraufhin in den touristischen Hafenbereich, wo es insgesamt ruhiger war. Abends kamen wir zum Essen auch direkt hier hin und fanden das <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozambik.co.za\/\">Mozambik<\/a> an der V&A Waterfront ganz interessant, das war wohl das N\u00e4chste was wir an afrikanischem Essen hatten. Am n\u00e4chsten Tag wollten wir den Tafelberg besteigen und fuhren mit dem Auto zur Talstation der Seilbahn. Der Aufstieg folgte zun\u00e4chst dem Pfad der Seilbahn und war ziemlich steil. Nach 30 Minuten erreichten wir eine T- Kreuzung: nach rechts ging es zum \u201eindischen Fenster\" und einem Aufstieg wo alpine Kenntnisse vorhanden sein m\u00fcssen, nach links sollte der moderate Aufstieg gehen. Kurz nach dem Abbiegen kamen uns eine Reihe von Leuten entgegen, die sich wohl verirrt hatten und fragten, wo der Aufstieg lang geht. Nach einiger Diskussion vertrauten sie aber meiner Komoot App. und liefen zur\u00fcck. Nach einer halben Stunde flachem Wanderns\u00a0 kamen wir dann zum Aufstieg und der war extrem steil, fast nur mit nat\u00fcrlichen Stufen. Wir wurden von vielen j\u00fcngeren Leuten \u00fcberholt, schafften es aber nach vielen Pausen und 3 Stunden Steigen ganz nach oben. Der Aufstieg erfolgte in der prallen Sonne bei bestem Wetter, wobei wir feststellten nicht gen\u00fcgen Trinkwasser dabei zu haben. Oben angekommen kauften wir 2 Liter, die innerhalb k\u00fcrzester Zeit\u00a0 weggetrunken waren. Die Aussicht war spektakul\u00e4r und wir machten noch einige Fotos, bevor wir uns auf den Weg nach unten machten. Runter nahmen wir dann die Seilbahn (Laufen war da echt nicht mehr drin). Den Rest des Tages lie\u00dfen wir es langsam angehen, erholten uns und nahmen das Abendessen im Fire Fish an der V&A Waterfront ein und g\u00f6nnten uns ein letztes Mal ein Steak.<br \/>\nAm n\u00e4chsten Morgen fuhren wir dann zum Flughafen nach Kapstadt, gaben den Mietwagen zur\u00fcck und flogen mit einer lokalen Airline nach Johannesburg. Dort hatten wir noch 10 Stunden Aufenthalt, beim Einchecken zum KLM Flug wurde mir noch ein Multitool und Spork abgenommen (alles sehr gef\u00e4hrlich). Der R\u00fcckflug nach Amsterdam und der Weiterflug nach Frankfurt verliefen ohne bemerkenswerte Zwischenf\u00e4lle.
